What is a HMO-POS?

This is a type of HMO plan that incorporates a Point of Service plan. These plans typically requires members to choose a primary care physician (PCP) who manages their care and provides referrals to specialists, similar to an HMO. However, it also allows members to seek care outside the HMO’s network, often at a higher cost, similar to a POS plan.

These plans offer more flexibility than a traditional HMO by allowing you to seek out-of-network care at a higher cost.
